Zareen Khan recently said how she really liked getting compared to Katrina Kaif at the start of her career

Veer actress Zareen Khan recently talked about getting compared with Katrina Kaif at the start of her career. She also said how, even though she liked it, it later on backfired. In a recent ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Reddit, actor Zareen Khan revealed that the comparisons made between her and Katrina Kaif in her early days in Bollywood had a negative impact on her career. Zareen, who did not come from a filmy background, stated that she was initially happy being compared to Katrina, whom she admired for her beauty. However, she lamented that the film industry did not give her the opportunity to showcase her individuality.

The actress wrote. “So, when I entered this industry, I was literally like a lost child since I don’t come from a filmy background, so it made me feel very happy being compared to Katrina as I was her fan too and found her really pretty. But it backfired on my career as the people of this industry didn’t give me a chance to prove my individuality (sic).

Zareen Khan made her acting debut in the 2010 film ‘Veer’, which was produced by Salman Khan, who had also worked with Katrina in previous films such as ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ (2005) and ‘Partner’ (2007). The constant comparisons with Katrina ultimately hindered Zareen’s career growth and denied her the chance to establish her own identity.

Apart from Hindi films, Zareen has also ventured into Punjabi, Telugu, and Tamil cinema. Following her debut in ‘Veer’, she appeared in the 2012 comedy ‘Housefull 2’ and the 2015 film ‘Hate Story 3’. In addition, she starred in the Telugu film ‘Chanakya’ and the Punjabi film ‘Jatt James Bond’ in 2014
