Ameesha Patel is gearing up for the release of Gadar 2. She will be reprising her role as Sakeena. Helmed by Anil Sharma, the film also stars Sunny Deol as Tara Singh and Utkarsh Sharma as Jeete. On Wednesday, the makers unveiled the trailer in a grand event in Mumbai and revealed that people had doubts that she wouldn’t be able to pull off the mother’s role in the sequel. Ameesha recalled how some celebs thought she wouldn’t be able to pull off the mother’s role in the film. When she was previously offered the film, a lot of people in the film industry, including big names, asked how will she able to perform a mother’s role.
Later, she added that when she was offered the sequel, the same doubts were raised. Ameesha Patel revealed, “Aur ab Gadar 2 ki baat ayi tab bhi wahi sawaal uthe ki ‘Dude have you seen yourself on Instagram” Lazy Lamhe ki ladki ab kaise Gadar karegi’ (Now ahead of Gadar 2, people are still asking same questions how can I pull off a mother’s role after doing a song like Lazy Lamhe (from the movie Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji).”
On August 11, the box office is going to witness a mega clash between Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2. Both the films are sequels to the hit films Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) and OMG – Oh My God (2012), respectively. Sunny and Akshay will be reprising their roles. It will be interesting to see which film takes the lead at the box office. When Gadar was released in 2001, the film clashed with Aamir Khan starrer Lagaan.
