Indore New road being built in Ganesh Ghat

Representative of Naiduniya, Indore. Accidents occur frequently in Ganesh Ghat area of AB Road (Agra-Bombay) National Highway due to high gradient. For this reason, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing. A new 9 km lower slope parallel to the existing highway. Due to which the route of vehicular traffic will also be different. At present, 4.5 km out of nine ghats are being cut. This route is to be completed by December 2024 at a cost of 197 crores.

Along with the construction of new routes, eight minor and 23 medium and major level bridges and culverts will also be constructed. The new route will cross the existing route in two places. In such a situation, an underpass will be constructed at the beginning of the Bankner ghat. An overbridge at the end of the ghat.

It is worth mentioning that more than 3000 accidents have occurred on Ganapati Ghat in 15 years. In which more than 450 people have lost their lives.

At present, drums have been installed in the middle of the road on the ghat to prevent accidents. So that vehicles cannot overtake. However, many motorists are still overtaking the vehicle out of the empty space between these drums, which always leads to accidents.

Construction of new routes will help in getting rid of accidents. To avoid vehicular accidents on the existing road, we have placed drums in the middle of the road so that vehicles do not overtake from one lane to another. A Indore new road is being constructed two km away from the existing road.
