The leopard that died today is the sixth adult leopard to die since March. The Madhya Pradesh Forestry Department issued a statement on Wednesday.
Madhya Pradesh Forest Department has said that one of the female leopards, Dhatri (Tbilisi), was found dead this morning.An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. 14 leopards including seven males, six females and one female cub are housed in Kuno’s enclosure. The female cheetah is in the open, being monitored by the team. Efforts are on to bring him back for health check-up, the forest department said in a statement.
Let us tell you that on June 26, Suraj Cheetah was released from a large enclosure in the open forest at Kuno National Park in Sheopur. Suraj was the 10th leopard to be released into the open forest of Kuno National Park.At the same time, ‘Tejas’, a male leopard brought from South Africa and housed in enclosure 6, also died on 11 July.
The cheetah was found in an injured state during the supervision of the Kuno Park management. Tejas had injury marks on his upper neck. So far 6 leopards and 3 cubs have died in Kuno National Park.
Leopards were brought from Namibia and South Africa
20 cheetahs were brought from Namibia and South Africa to revive the cheetahs in Kuno National Park, but so far 6 adults and 3 cubs have died of various causes.

He said that making wild animals attractions for political exhibitionism does not befit the elected representatives of a democracy. I request the responsible people to discuss with environmentalists and scientists and come up with such a plan soon, which can save the lives of these creatures.
