Uniform distribution will now be done through livelihood mission in Madhya Pradesh

Uniform: The role of State and District Level Livelihood Mission Offices is going to increase in uniform distribution program to primary and secondary school students in Madhya Pradesh.

In Madhya Pradesh, the state government provides uniforms to primary and secondary students. These uniforms reach out to children through self-help groups. For this the group is fund by the government and the dresses are then distribute. But now there is news of a major change in this process.

Now the amount given by the government for children’s uniform will not bee given to Self Help Groups and will bee sent to the State Livelihood Mission Office. This decision has bee taken to prevent malpractice in equitable distribution.

The proposal was sent to the cabinet

Distribution of uniforms to children is often confuse in the name of self-help groups. The benefits of the scheme do not reach the children. Keeping this in mind, it has bee decided to distribute uniforms under the Livelihood Mission. A proposal for this has bee made on the basis of inter-departmental consensus and sent to the Cabinet for approval.

The State Level Unit of Livelihood Mission is also handling the responsibility for distribution of uniforms. For this, the first 50 percent will bee paid to the working groups. To monitor the work of these groups, a joint committee of the Department of School Education. The Livelihood Mission will be form and monitored. The remaining 50 percent amount will bee paid only after the quality of the uniform is found to be satisfactory by the committe.

The role of Livelihood Mission Office will increase

In Madhya Pradesh, the process of distributing uniforms to students has bee handed over to self-help groups since 2018. The group is directly fund by the Department of Education and the Livelihood Mission staff is only aske to do monitoring. But after the change in the process, now the role of Livelihood Mission staff at the state and district level will increase in equal distribution.
