Singer AP Dhillon breaks his silence on the India-Canada dispute after rapper Shubh.

Shubh, a rapper and artist who took the brunt of the recent diplomatic spat between India and Canada, has now broken his silence and posted a lengthy letter on his Instagram.

As a teenage rapper and musician from Punjab, India, Shubh writes on his Instagram page, “It was my desire to showcase my music on worldwide dais. The cancellation of my trip in India leaves me feeling quite demoralized. I suppose fate had different intentions.

“India is MY nation as well; I was born here. It is the land of my GURUS and ANECSTORS, who didn’t bat an eye to make sacrifices for the liberation of this land, for its glory, and for the family. Punjab is my soul; Punjab is in my blood. Punjabis are exempt from demonstrating their patriotism. Punjabis have given their life for our nation’s liberation at every juncture in history. Therefore, I respectfully ask that you desist from labeling every Punjabi as a separatist or an opponent of the nation,” he continued.

“The sole reason I reshared the message on my page was to pray for Punjab because there were reports of internet and energy outages across the whole state. There was no other intention behind it, and I most surely didn’t mean to offend anyone, he added.

Singer AP Dhillon, an Indo-Canadian, has also spoken out about the incident and urged his followers to share love rather than hatred.

“Special interest and political groups constantly use our public image as a chess piece to further their agenda while we are just trying to make art that helps people on an individual level, regardless of their color, race, religion, nationality, and gender,” Dhillon said.
