In order to manage the campaign against Hamas terrorists, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Benny Gantz have decided to create an emergency unity government and a war cabinet. Yoav Gallant, the current defense minister, Netanyahu, Gantz, and two other high officials will serve as “observer” members. As long as the conflict is ongoing, the government would not make any laws or decisions that have nothing to do with it.
The single power plant in Gaza has forced to shut down due to a lack of fuel, according to the Palestinian Energy Ministry, adding to the anguish of a conflict that started by Hamas rockets on Israeli neighborhoods on Saturday. Now, all that left to power the region generators, but even those need fuel that in limited supply. Israel cut off access to the region, a 40-kilometer-long strip of land straddling Israel, Egypt, and the Mediterranean Sea and home to 2.3 million Palestinians, following the Hamas attack.
In response to cross-border firing, the Israeli Defense Force reported on Wednesday that its air force had attacked Hezbollah’s lookout post. An Israeli military station hit by rockets launched by the Lebanese militant organization Hezbollah near the northern border town of Aramsha. In a statement released today, the organization claimed that the strike left a “large number” of soldiers injured as well as some soldiers dead. They also claimed that the attack was in retaliation for Israeli bombardment on Sunday that resulted in the deaths of three Hezbollah militants.
Alerts have raised in northern Israeli cities and villages; the military claims there have been indications of possible Lebanonian airspace invasion. Alerts for approaching aircraft broadcast in communities in northern Israel and the Golan Heights, according to a Reuters news source.
