India Sets Up 24-Hour Control Room Amid Israel-Palestine Conflict

In order to monitor the situation in Israel and Palestine and to inform and aid its citizens, India has established a 24-hour control room in the ministry of external affairs. The action taken in response to worries about the safety of Indian people in the area after Israel launched a significant military operation in retaliation for assaults by Hamas terrorists last weekend that left around 1,200 Israelis dead and 2,400 wounded.

No injuries have reported among the 18,000 Indian citizens who reside in Israel. As of yet, no requests made for the inhabitants to evacuated, according to the officials. About 900 Indians work as students, elder caretakers, diamond merchants, and IT specialists.

The Ministry of External Affairs announced in a statement that it has established a 24-hour Control Room to monitor the situation and offer information and help due to the continuing developments in Israel and Palestine.

A 24-hour emergency helpline has also established by India’s representative office in Ramallah. It may reached at +970-592916418 (also through WhatsApp) and rep.ramallah@mea.gov.in.

The Indian embassy promptly sent a warning advising Indian citizens to take care, refrain from moving, and remain near to safety shelters. According to the alert, “all Indian nationals in Israel requested to remain vigilant and observe safety protocols as advised by local authorities” in light of the country’s present political climate.
