On X, previously known as Twitter, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar posted images of the second attempt to repatriate the trapped people with the caption: “#OperationAjay Flight #2 carrying 235 Indian nationals takes off from Tel Aviv.”

This occurs the day after the first repatriation operation under “Operation Ajay,” in which 212 Indians airlifted out of Israel. The initial flight left Israel’s Ben Gurion airport on Thursday night and arrived in New Delhi on Friday morning. The passengers reportedly selected on a “first come, first serve” basis.

On October 11, the administration began “Operation Ajay” to repatriate trapped nationals from Israel. As the conflict began on October 7, Air India and other airlines stopped all of their commercial flights to and from Israel. Special chartered planes will used in this operation to transport the Indians back. The Indian Navy ships would reportedly also sent out if the necessity arises.
