As several film celebrities flocked to a Durga Puja pandal during the Navratri season, Sonam Kapoor also joined the brigade on Monday as she arrived with Anil Kapoor at North Bombay Durga Puja. The father-daughter duo joined Rani Mukerji at the pandal and they all posed together for the pictures in front of the goddess.
Sonam looked no less than a bride in a heavy, red Sabyasachi Anarkali with a dupatta that had a religious line embroidered on the border. She paired the look with a heavy bridal necklace and earrings. Sonam also had a red bindi on her forehead and had her hair loosely tied at the back.
A paparazzo shared a video of Sonam and Anil on Instagram. Praising Sonam’s outfit, a fan wrote, “always wearing the best clothes.” Another commented, “Sonam dress is looking awesome.” One more said, “Cute mummy father and daughter both looking gorgeous and ditto fit.”
Some, however, also claimed that the presence of so many celebrities at Durga Puja pandals has made them into a fashion show. A comment read, “Did you see now even Durga pandals have turned into celebrity stage shows and designer showcases.” An Instagram user said, “This event has become fashion parades for celebrities.”
Rani Mukerji, along with cousin Kajol and their extended family took an active part in the celebrations at North Bombay Durga Puja throughout the festival. Kajol was also accompanied by son Yug Devgn, mom Tanuja and Tanishaa Mukerji as they all joined former actor Sharbani Mukherjee and others at the pandal. In last few days, several film and TV celebrities visited the pandal for the darshan.
