Professor Ali continued reading from the apology, “In terms of wisdom as stipulated by the Sharia and declared that unnecessary mingling of women with men not allowed.”

This occurs weeks after the teacher, as reported by The Express Tribune, addressed women’s rights in Islam in reaction to demonstrations against women who go out in public without following the conventional Islamic dress code.

Following the lecture, Professor Ali charged by Pakistani clergy for propagating immorality and disparaging Islam both in his speech and in his classes at the university.

However, the teacher countered that his lesson plans, which include Darwin’s theory, are based on the curriculum established by the school board and that if students have any complaints, they should file a lawsuit.

A member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan’s Bannu branch named Rafiullah Khan claimed that Professor Ali has made his stance clear on social media, where he had amassed over 20,000 followers.

“Ali asked those who were objecting to his teaching of Darwin’s theory to approach the court and get it declared illegal, saying he teaching it because it his responsibility to teach and that he paid by the government for this,” Mr. Khan told the German media site DW.
