Chairman of Raymond Group, Gautam Singhania, Announces Divorce After Diwali Dispute

The wealthy Raymond Group chairman, Gautam Singhania, made the announcement on Monday that he and his wife of 32 years, Nawaz Modi Singhania, were divorcing. This happened just hours after a video purportedly showed Nawaz complaining that she prevented from going to her husband’s Diwali celebration on Sunday, November 12.

Nawaz Singhania and another lady can seen in the alleged footage taken outside the Thane party location. The woman claims she stopped by the security officers even though she had received an invitation to the event. The Diwali celebration held at Gautam Singhania’s Thane residence, JK Gram.

Nawaz can be heard in the video complaining that she had to wait in her car outside the venue for more than three hours. Gautam Singhania announced on X on Monday that he and Nawaz had broken up in a post. “This Diwali won’t be like many others in the past. I think that from now on, Nawaz and I will go in opposite directions. After 32 years of dating, raising two children, and always supporting one another, we overcame these challenges with dedication, fortitude, and faith when the two most amazing additions to our life arrived,” he remarked.

However, Gautam Singhania remained silent on the specifics of their two children’s custody and separation. “As I reflect over the unfortunate developments in the recent past, there has been a lot of unsubstantiated rumour mongering, and gossip surrounding our lives fanned by ‘not so well wishers’,” he stated in a letter. “I am parting ways with her while we continue to do what is the best for our two precious diamonds Niharika and Nisa.”
