Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse: Rescue Team Strives to Install Larger Pipe for Trapped Workers

Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse: In the early hours of November 12, the under-construction tunnel between Silkyara and Dandalgaon on the Brahmakhal-Yamunotri national highway collapsed, posing a threat to the safety of forty trapped workers.

Instead of using a 4-inch-diameter conduit to sustain the flow of food and vitamins, the team is attempting to install a 6-inch-diameter pipe. A senior representative of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) assessed the status of relief efforts at the Silkyara Tunnel, which is being built on the Uttarkashi-Yamnotri route, on Saturday.

  1. First, Uttarkhand Today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visit the Silkyara Tunnel, which situated on the Uttarkashi-Yamnotri route, to examine the ongoing relief and rescue efforts.   3. Bhaskar Khulbe, an OSD in the Uttarakhand government and a former prime minister’s advisor, stated in Silkyara that coordinated efforts will provide positive outcomes in four to five days. He cited by PTI as saying, “But if the gods are kind enough, it could happen even earlier than that.”

Earlier on Saturday, Bhaskar Khulbe, a former advisor to the Prime Minister Office (PMO), stated that personnel stationed at the Silkyara tunnel need to coordinate their efforts for the ongoing rescue mission, and that several approaches investigated in an attempt to save their lives. Bhaskar Khulbe stated, “We are exploring as many options as possible to rescue workers,” in an interview with ANI. Reaching out to folks who have stranded here for days is our first concern. We just need some organized effort, and we’re working to form teams and find a way there. We don’t lack ideas, resources, or solutions.”
