Waqf Bill

Appealing to the opposition MPs not to mislead Muslims, Kiren Rijiju said, “The decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been taken after a lot of thought. They (opposition members) are repeatedly saying that we are scaring Muslims, but it is not so. It is you, not us, who are scaring Muslims. Those who said that after the CAA is passed, Muslims will lose their citizenship, but it did not happen. Do not mislead Muslims regarding this bill.”

The minister said that when this bill was drafted, everyone’s suggestions were taken into consideration. If we look at the original draft and the current draft of the Waqf Bill, we have made many changes in it. These changes have been made on the basis of everyone’s suggestions.

Most of the suggestions of the people in the JPC have been accepted. Not all suggestions can be accepted. The MPs of the parties included in the JPC alleged that their suggestions were not heard. But in such a situation, we took a decision by majority. This is what happens in democracy.
