Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani-Starrer Satyaprem Ki Katha have been holding steady at the box office, on the strength of positive word-of-mouth. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 3.85 crore on Wednesday, bringing its total domestic collections to Rs 50.61 crore in a week. However, there was a slight decline in earnings, as compared to Tuesday’s figure of Rs 4.05 crore. On July 5, the film had an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 11.87 percent.
The film had a decent start at the box office, earning Rs 9.5 crore on its opening day. However, compared to Kartik-Kiara’s previous film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Satyaprem Ki Katha took a bit longer to join the Rs 50 crore club. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, released in 2022, was a blockbuster that attracted audiences back to the theatres, and it managed to earn Rs 50 crore within its first weekend. In total, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 collected Rs 185 crore at the box office.
Kartik and Kiara surprised their fans by visiting a movie theatre recently, where they received a standing ovation for their performance in the film. Taking to her Instagram account, Kiara wrote, “When the audience gives us a standing ovation, that’s when you realize magic has been created. A moment to cherish forever. I want to say Thank You to the entire team of #SatyapremKiKatha.
A part of the review read, “Somewhere under the overwrought and overcooked plot of Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani-Starrer is a real film about two people dealing with troubled pasts, but it gets buried under everything else that the movie throws at us.”
