The Gangs of Wasseypur actor added, “When I came to Mumbai 20 years back, for two months I was thinking of becoming an actor, but then I just gave up. For being an actor, gym and all bahut jana padega, toh kaun karega, that’s what I thought. Then I started working behind the screen and those days of learning have made me reach where I am today.” Faisal Malik also believes that India has a lot of stories waiting to be written by good writers. “An actor acts better only when the script is written well,” he said.

Talking about how the theatre industry now is not just limited to Mumbai, there is growth in theatre in many other cities as well. Answering one of the questions from the audience Faisal said, “In this new world of technology, now the artists do not have to go to Mumbai for auditions and roles, now Mumbai calls artists from different cities to send in their auditions. The tech-savvy industry has helped it find actors.
