While the Indian embassies in Israel and Palestine issued warnings for all of their people to “remain vigilant,” Indian students trapped in Israel during the attacks on the country by the Hamas militant organization expressed their suffering. The students claim that despite in frequent contact with the Indian embassy, they exceedingly frightened and anxious since the situation is “very tense.”
“I feel quite anxious and afraid…We are fortunate to have a place to stay and Israeli police troops nearby. We are secure thus far.We communicate with staff at the Indian embassy, there is a strong Indian community nearby, and we linked, Gokul Manavalan, an Indian student studying in Israel, told the news agency ANI.
The incident was “very tense and scary,” according to Vimal Krishnasamy Manivannan Chitra, a different student. “The Indian embassy is in contact with our organization. They are monitoring us, he said.
Aditya Karunanithi Nivedita, a student, shared his circumstances at the time the attack started and stated, “It all very unexpected we did not expect it because there are religious holidays in Israel going on. At approximately 5:30 in the morning, the sirens began to sound. The sirens went off after we had in bunkers for around 7-8 hours. We asked to remain in our residences.
A student at the Hebrew University in Israel claims that the college is providing housing and that they are living in dormitories.
According to Soma Ravi, an Indian national who has lived in Israel for the past 18 years, “Today was a very difficult day, we have never seen a situation (like this).” After launching 5,000 rockets in less than 20 minutes, the terrorists from Hamas murdered 22 persons and wounded 500 more.
