“Prime Minister Netanyahu had no notice at any point about Hamas’s plan to go to war. Conversely, every security officer, including the chief of army intelligence and the head of the Shin Bet, believed that Hamas discouraged and open to a deal, according to Netanyahu’s post on X, which made at around 2300 GMT on Saturday.

However, he removed the post. After a period of almost ten hours, Netanyahu stated, “I wrong,” and that his statements “should not have made and I apologize for that.” “I give full backing to all the heads of the security branches,” he stated. His post sparked a schism in his war cabinet and a political storm. According to the newspaper, Netanyahu’s war cabinet member and former defense minister Benny Gantz swiftly criticized him for his remarks.

Gantz stated that Netanyahu need to take back his remarks and move on from the issue. “When we are at war, leadership must show responsibility, decide to do the right things and bolster the forces in a way that they can carry out what we demand of them,” he stated. Reportedly, Netanyahu “crossed a red line” with the nocturnal tweet, according to Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid. “The attempts to evade responsibility and place the blame on the security establishment weakens the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) while it’s fighting Israel’s enemies,” he was quoted as saying by Reuters.
