Actor Suniel Shetty says it’s important for people to reach out to those who they know are dealing with stress, in the wake of renowned art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai’s suspected suicide. Desai was found dead at his studio, ND Studio, in Karjat, Maharashtra on August 2, leading to reports that he may have died by suicide owing to financial constraints
In an interview with The Free Press Journal, Suniel said described Desai as one of the humblest art directors, the “finest” talent. “What was that one thing that broke him to succumb to this, is the most important question. It is said, ‘God always wants the good ones with him.’ Does he need them? I don’t know… My heartfelt condolences
When asked about actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who had also allegedly died by suicide in 2020, Suniel Shetty said the late actor was a “wonderful child” who achieved a lot in his life. “And then God takes him away… What was the moment when he did what he did? You feel for his parents, his family. Reaching out is important. If we know someone and if at all we know he/she is going through any sort of stress, we should reach out to them. We should be constantly calling out and keep inquiring about their well-being,” he added.
Speaking to ANI, Nitin Desai’s daughter Mansi revealed that her father had borrowed a loan of Rs 181 crore from a company out of which he had repaid Rs 86.31 crore. Desai’s daughter had said that her father had no intention to cheat anyone.
