Shahid Latif, one of the most wanted terrorists in India, shot and killed today in Sialkot, Pakistan, by unidentified assailants. Latif had a significant role in the 2016 Pathankot terror incident, which resulted in the deaths of seven security officers.
Latif slain inside a mosque, according to the police, who are still looking for the perpetrators. The attack, which the police have classified as a terror event, resulted in the death of another Jaish terrorist. The shooters rode away from the scene on a motorbike, and police have opened an investigation into the death.
Latif employed as a Maulvi in the Noot Masjid in Sialkot. Hassan Iqbal, a senior police officer, stated that they have started an inquiry to discover and apprehend the perpetrators. Latif, a member of the Jaish-e-Mohammed, directed the four terrorists that attacked the Pathankot airfield from Sialkot. In the previous 18 months, a number of more terrorists have also slain in Pakistan.
