He won 4 times Mr. India and also won four times Frdration cup and also won Mr. Universe Silver and Mr. Aisa Silver . He also participated in the European championship and Shiv Chhatrapati Awardee. Aditya Thackeray expressed grief over Sakharkar’s demise and expressed condolences to his family. Sakharkar’s death triggered an outpouring of grief on social media with fans mourning his death, with some calling it the end of an era for the state body-building sport.

Confirming the event, Heeral Sheth, Secretary General (Miss), Indian Bodybuilders Federation, instructed IANS that 43-year-old Sakharkar, a resident of Parel, was affected by some well being issues and was admitted to a hospital in south Mumbai per week in the past.
