The 90s actor started facing backlash on the internet after the said tweet went viral. The post was regarding the Haryana violence and Govinda denied that neither he nor his team would do anything of the sort.

Govinda took to Instagram on Thursday, August 3, to deny all claims against him. He shared a video where he urged his fans to not attribute the Haryana tweet to him. He said ”Somebody has done this. I have not used the account in years. I am filing a complaint in the cyber cell against the matter. I would like to say me and my team have denied the claim. I will give this matter to cybercrime. I never discuss all this nor I ever will.

Govinda assured his Haryana fans that he hadn’t been active on Twitter for some time and reiterated that his account had been hacked. He also emphasized that his team had not made the controversial post, as they would never do so without his permission.

The tweet that went viral on social media was from an unverified account. The account replied to a tweet that had a video where shops allegedly run by Muslims were being attacked in Gurugram.
