Gadar 2 movie review and release LIVE UPDATES: With Gadar 2 Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are bringing back their iconic characters of Tara Singh and Sakeena, 22 years after the release of the superhit film Gadar. This time, Tara Singh is pitted against the Pakistani army for his son Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma). The film is touted to be a complete masala entertainer as Deol is once again set to deliver some sweet-maar dialogues, including the most-loved, “Hindustan zindabad tha, zindabad hai, zindabad rahega”.
Helmed by Anil Sharma, the film is releasing alongside Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer OMG 2. But given the popularity of its prequel, Gadar 2 is already a winner at the ticket counters. The film has already sold 1,41,500 tickets for Day 1 on national cinema chains, PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. Speaking about his character Tara Singh at the 2023 Jagran Film Festival, Sunny Deol said, “Tara Singh is our Hulk, Superman. Every man wants to watch Hulk and Superman. He believes that (the hero) on screen will set things right. Like there are Marvel Comics, here is Tara Singh. You don’t draw these powers from working out. These are emotional powers.
Gadar 2 is set in Lahore during the year 1971. The film also stars Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, and Simrat Kaur in pivotal roles.
