Farhan Akhtar recently announced that his popular franchise Don 3 will go on floors in 2025 and that Ranveer Singh will step in Shah Rukh Khan’s shoes. However, there was no announcement of the female lead and Farhan recently opened up on the same in an interview. Here’s what he said.
After a long wait, Farhan Akhtar announced ‘Don 3’ last week, revealing that Ranveer Singh will replace Shah Rukh Khan in this crime thriller franchise. Netizens had mixed reactions over the casting, with several fans refusing to accept Ranveer as the new Don.
As for the female lead, many names have come to the fore, out of which Kiara Advani was the touted forerunner. However, Farhan, in a recent interview with BBC Asian Network, revealed that it is still a work in progress and he doesn’t want to get ahead of himself and say something that he may have to take back for any other reason. He also added that when the time is right, everyone will know.
Earlier, in the same interview, breaking the silence over the trolling and controversy, Farhan said, “I’m just really looking forward to getting it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous, about the thing you’re filling some big shoes before you. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it and everyone was like ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?.’ That whole thing happened then.”
