Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, a pioneering AI company, received Indonesia’s first golden visa in an unusual move. Altman received a 10-year visa from Indonesia’s immigration department in recognition of his international notoriety and ability to benefit the country.

He thinks that the visa will encourage prominent international investors. Along with the lengthened visa duration, Altman will gain from expedited entrance and departure processes as well as priority security screening at airports.
Just one week ago, the golden visa program introduced as a calculated effort to support Indonesia’s economic expansion. The program allows foreign nationals who are prepared to contribute significantly financially to the nation to remain for a term of five to ten years. For instance, anybody investing $350,000 in regional public firms, savings accounts, or government assets assured a five-year residence.
Altman has not yet made his investment intentions in Indonesia public, but his recent trip to Jakarta to give a speech on the future of AI suggests that he is quite interested in the country’s technical environment.
