Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is Indian-American. He has advocated for the declaration of “economic independence” from China and has suggested a number of initiatives, including closer ties with nations like India.
Ramaswamy also stressed the necessity of getting away from pharmaceutical supply chains that are under Chinese control and raising military expenditure in a significant foreign policy address he gave on Thursday in his home state of Ohio.
The 38-year-old biotech entrepreneur added, “What we are laying out here is a clear and pragmatic vision for how we will actually, finally at long last declare economic independence from China while actually advancing American prosperity at home.”
“I won’t try to sell you a fictitious idea of everything quickly offshored. If we are serious about detaching from China, it won’t happen. Expanded ties with Israel, Brazil, and India would also be necessary, according to Mr. Ramaswamy, whose popularity has increased as a result of his outstanding performance in the first Republican presidential primary debate last month.
According to Mr. Ramaswamy, if he wins the presidential election in November 2024, his plan to declare independence from China would consist of four components. As part of this, “independence from the climate change agenda”—which Mr. Ramaswamy called a “farce” and “hoax”—must declared.
He urged moving away from Chinese-controlled pharmaceutical supply chains because of worry that China “could lace our legal pharmaceutical supply chain with poison, including fentanyl,” and increased military spending to “defend our own homeland.”
According to Mr. Ramaswamy, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) erects a massive wall to prevent outsiders from entering the Chinese market if they criticize the CCP, but they throw open the red carpet if they do the same for the US.
