BMW cheapest electric SUV is coming to India – BMW iX1
Luxury car maker BMW is going to launch its new and cheapest electric SUV in India. The name of this car is said to be “BMW iX1”. It was launche in the global market last year itself and now it is the turn of the Indian market. The company has announced this by releasing a teaser. However, there is no update regarding the launch date.

Powertrain
The company has not yet shared information about the upcoming iX1 model in India. But two variants of the SUV are available in the global market, including the xDrive30 and the eDrive20. Both variants have a 64.8kWh battery back. Its e-Drive20 model comes with a single electric motor and front wheel drive system, generating 204PS of power and 250Nm of torque. While the X-Drive30 all-wheel drive is equippe with a dual electric motor setup, capable of generating 313PS of power and 494Nm of torque.
Design and features
The design of the SUV is largely similar to the ICE model. Only minor changes are see in the front grille and rear bumper. It has LED headlights and attractive LED taillights. It also gets a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats (with memory and message functions), dual zone climate control, a 10.26-inch digital drive display and a 10.7-inch infotainment system based on BMW’s iDrive 8.
Price and Competitors
According to media reports, BMW’s new electric SUV may hit the Indian market next month. Its expecte price is said to be Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia EV6 will compete with Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Volvo XC40 Recharge in the car market.
