Madhya Pradesh: Harda district of Madhya Pradesh is going to become a 100 percent irrigated district. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 122 works costing Rs 4 thousand 469 crore 62 lakh, Morand and Ganjal Dam Project worth Rs 3 thousand 517 crore and Shaheed Ilapsingh Micro Lift Irrigation Project worth Rs 720 crore in the Kisan Sammelan in Harda.
Morand Ganjal Irrigation Project will benefit 73 thousand 920 farmers of 201 villages of Harda, Narmadanuram, and Khandwa and 64 thousand 111 hectares of land will be irrigated. Shaheed Ilaap Singh Project will benefit 118 villages of Harda district and 26 thousand 898 hectares of land will be irrigated. In this way, 91,100 hectares of land in 319 villages will be irrigated.

Minister Patel asked officials to take steps to complete the project on time. He said farmers of 68 villages of Handia tehsil of Harda district, 25 of Khirkiya, 21 of Timarni, and 4 villages of Harda tehsil would benefit.
Work will start on 12 irrigation projects in Narmada Valley in Madhya Pradesh at a cost of Rs 26,716 crore. On completion of these projects, irrigation facility will be available in about 5.90 lakh hectare area.
The implementation of all these projects will ensure the use of 3.50 MAF (million-acre feet) of Narmada water from Madhya Pradesh’s share. On completion of all works in Narmada Valley, 38 lakh hectares of land will be irrigated.
