In response to Hamas assaults of “unprecedented brutality,” Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted Israel’s right to self-defense. Emphasized the establishment of a “independent Palestine state with East Jerusalem” as its capital. Putin stated at the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit on Friday that “Russia proceeds from the postulate. A negotiated solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has no alternatives,” according to ANI quoting TASS.

The goal of the negotiations should to implement the two-state solution proposed by the UN, which calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The peaceful coexistence of that state with Israel, which, as we have seen, has subjected to attacks of unprecedented brutality. Of sure, it entitled to self-defense. At the conference, Putin remarked, “It has the right to secure its peaceful existence.

He went on to say that efforts must made to settle this conflict peacefully. “The way I see it, in a situation like this and in this particular place, there is simply no alternative [to two independent states],” he said, as reported by TASS.

According to Al Jazeera, Putin’s trip to Kyrgyzstan was his first overseas excursion after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for alleged war crimes. He took part in a summit of the CIS, a regional grouping of former Soviet nations, during the two-day tour. Putin’s worldwide travel coincided with concerns about Russia’s waning regional dominance.

Putin expected to travel to China for the third Belt and Road Forum in Beijing next week, despite the fact that he has not frequently left Russia since dispatching troops to Ukraine in early 2022.
