After the success of Sanam Bewafa, Chandni was about to get a line of films, but a contract ruined her career. Actually, Chandni, whose real name is Navodita Sharma, had signed a contract with Saavan Kumar, according to which she could not work with anyone else.
Chandni got free from this contract after about two-three years, by then it was too late. She got films like 1942 A Love Story, Jai Kishan and Mr. Azad, but the charm of Sanam Bewafa was no longer there. After not getting good films, she said goodbye to the industry. The actress was last seen in Mr. Azad.
